It was amazing being back among familiar faces and family and friends again. It was strange seeing our old house since we moved out in June of 2021. But being back in the neighborhood was the best. It was almost like we never left.
After some amazing meals with friends and getting together with past co-works and the Wednesday evening dinner ride group and one awesome 4th of July event, it was time to get back on the road again. On Saturday, July 9th we headed to Lassen National Park. Not sure if we caught something from one of our friends at the 4th of July event, but both of us got pretty sick. COVID? Maybe, but we did not get tested. It took us out for a few days. Luckily we were in a nice quiet RV park which was a good place to recuperate. We were also able to extend our stay by a few days. This allowed us to get into Lassen for a few days. The views in Lassen are both spectacular and sad. The landscape views and the majesty of the valley is breathtaking. Sad because of all the damage to the forest from the fire last year. Still, this is a place you should have on your bucket list.
